Winter World

Winter World is a science fiction and fantasy novel. It is the first chapter in The Long Winter novel series. The book is written by A. G. Riddle. The Atlantis Gene was the first novel written by the author in 2013 and since then there was no looking back for him. The Extinction Trials is another fantastic literary piece from the author.

The audio narration of this novel is done by the duo of Edoardo Ballerini and Amanda Leigh Cobb. The male narrator did well with his part of the performance. However, the feel narrator was flat and didn’t make a good impression with her performance.

The ice was coming. It was the very last thing that we expected. But, the world was getting frozen day after day. A new ice age just found its place and humanity was pushed hard to counter its extinction. Billions of people fled the glaciers and they overcrowded the last of the habitable zones of the world.

They could run from the ice. But, they were in no position to escape human nature at all. The situation suggested that a cataclysmic war was coming close. A group of scientists in the orbit was trying out the Winter Experiments. It was more of a last-ditch attempt for the sake of understanding why exactly the planet was cooling down. There was hardly any climatic model which was making any sense. And, then an anomaly was discovered…

The genre and title of this book seem to be misleading. It doesn’t have a bad story at all. The audience was expecting this one to be hard science fiction but it turned out to be more of a love story in space.
