Web of Lies

Web of Lies is the second chapter of the Elemental Assassin novel series. The book is written by Jennifer Estep. She is an American author of paranormal romance and urban fantasy novels. If you are interested in knowing more novels from the author then Tear Down the Throne will make a very exciting experience. Moreover, Tangled Threads is another exciting book that the author has written.

The audio narration of Web of Lies novel is done by Lauren Fortgang. It was an excellent narration and you will have a wonderful time. Curiosity for sure would make me go dead on one of those days. Probably that might happen real soon. I am Gin Blanco. I am known to the world as a Spider, actually, the most feared type of assassin ever to come from the South. But, I got retired then and trouble would find my way still. It was just like some other day when a couple of punks attempted to rob my well-known barbecue joint, which was the Pork Fit. Then there was also a barrage of gunfire that was somewhere in or around the restaurant. For once only, those shots were not aimed at me. They were meant only for Violet Fox.

Ever since the time I agreed to support Fox along with her grandfather to protect their property from some evil tycoon, I started to wonder if I was retired then. Detective Donovan Caine was the only known honest cop all across the Ashland and he was having a very hard time while reuniting his fondness for me along with his mentality of Boy Scout type.

This novel is way better than the first one but still not that good. It seemed to be a bit repetitive. The only major positive in this book is the fantastic voice of Lauren Fortgang.
