Fifth novel approach the audience in a flash, surely author Gail Carriger has done a lot of brainstorming for the series in order to keep it in good pace. Alexia was never in such an enjoyable mood before in her life. She has finally entered a grove in which she can enjoy and do whatever she likes in life. Her enjoyments are not like the ordinary ladies of the town who want to dress up in fashionable clothes all the time and like going to the parties. Alexia likes to find werewolves in the society and her current stay at the vampire’s closet has been awesome. Life has never been so much blessed for Alexia who finally has a baby to nourish. As for her baby, he too is not an ordinary kid and looking after him thus is not a big problem.

It was during these days Alexia used to watch the performance of Ivy Tunstell, the actress was not doing well in the plays but Alexia was not worried about the quality. When Alexia is called to Alexandria by the queen of vampires she gets confused a bit. Emily Gray narrates this situation very precisely as Alexia shows her concern for her husband and child for the first time. Danger is coming to the land and the days of fun are over for the lady. Gail made a single woman stand against the odds on Soulless and Heartless here too Alexia stands up for a fight but she is worried about her family. Her family has become her weakness but it is the only reason she is happy in her life ans she is keeping that reason alive.
