The Witness for the Dead is a science fiction and fantasy novel. It is the second book in the Goblin Emperor novel series. For the Cemeteries of Amalo novel series, the same book is its first chapter. The book is written by Katherine Addison. She is an American short story writer and a novelist. She mostly writes in the genres of fantasy, science fiction, and horror. The Goblin Emperor is arguably the best novel that Katherine Addison has written. Moreover, you will also adore her writing in The Angel of the Crows novel.

The audio narration of this book is done by Liam Gerrard. The performance was good. You might need to slow down the narration to 0.8x to make it an easy and comfortable listen.

Maia was a young half-goblin emperor. He wanted to know who was behind the setting up of bombs that killed his half-brothers and father. Then he reverted to an incomprehensible resident of the Court of his father, a Witness for the Dead and a Prelate of the Ulis. Thara eventually discovered the truth, despite that didn’t had done any good to him with its discovery. He soon lost his spot as a retainer of the former Empress and his cousin. He made a lot of enemies among the various sections that were competing for the much-needed power in the new Court. One thing was sure there that the favor of the Emperor was nothing more than a treacherous coin.

The Witness for the Dead is an incredible and spellbinding novel. You will be so happy with the addition of this novel in the series and would love to have more of these from the author.
