The Third Kingdom

Richard was chosen for a task that is not unusual for him because anything connected to the catching of criminals and evil forces was linked to his routine work. So he just packed his luggage and went to the spot. Richard was never ready for something unusual which would make him doubt the difference between the living and the dead. A man standing in front of him threw a woman out of the place and then he turned to attack him at once.

Richard was not looking at the man or the woman that might have needed his help rather his focus was on the blade that was visible from the back of that strange man. It appeared that the blade has crossed the chest of that villain and it has become visible between the two shoulders now. The question that arose in Richard’s mind was simple i.e how anyone can survive after such a lethal blow on his chest.

When he confronted the man from the front he was more shocked because three blades were dragged in the chest of that man and he was still standing and ready to fight. The dim light fell on the face of that monster and Richard realized that why the entire room was looking so spooky to him.

Terry Goodkind used magic and some blend of the old myths in Wizard’s First Rule and Stone of Tears. This story also has some myths involved but those are more tragic and painful. As a kid don’t select this book that is full of mourning because a strong heart is needed to listen to stuff like this one. Sam Tsoutsouvas’ grieved voice creates a scenario that just grips the heart directly.
