The Song of the First Blade is the opening chapter of The Bladeborn Saga. This is a science fiction and fantasy novel which is authored by T.C. Edge. He is from Southern England and writes fantasy, fiction, and mystery novels. If you love such novels then you must give this author a try, especially with his An Echo of Titans novel. After this, you might also like the writing of the novelist in Ghost of the Shadowfort novel.
The audio narration of The Song of the First Blade novel is done by Steven Brand. It was a sloppy performance, especially with the pronunciation of the names of people and places. The story in this novel is of a treacherous king, an ancient evil, and an intense mystery that goes well back to the fall of the gods.
The dark forces closed in at the core of Vandar. Elyon was a gifted and highly skillful knight. He fought for the survival of his family in a world which was just at the edge of war. There was a servant girl living in the fraught northlands of Tukor. She was known for having a mysterious past and was pushed hard by a treacherous god who was thrusting her to go on a journey, which will ultimately change her world for good. An ancient power was then unleashed right from the Shadowfort. It was something that could set in motion a chain of events that could have the potential to bring the entire world down on its knees.
The cover of the book is deceiving as there are absolutely no dragons in this novel. But, it is a good story whatever it is. The performance had a lot of scope for improvement.
