A blend of magic and myth is fascinating all the time and it can be called the perfect mixture in all ways. The Four Lands were once governed by Druid Allanon and the ruler had the magical powers with the help of which he brought peace to the lands. Now Allanon is dead which means the lands are not being ruled by a single ruler anymore. Moreover, magic has been forbidden in the Four Lands and not many youngsters know about magic now.
Par is not like the others because he has in him the power of the Wishsong. Though the boy hasn’t told anyone about it now and then he tries to tame his powers. During such a practice session, Par releases evil forces which go out of his control. A man named Cogline appears out of nowhere and sends the creature back to hell. Coline also came with a message from Allanon. Allanon wants Par to gather the rest of the Scions quickly because death and destruction are coming to the Four Lands.
Par has to find the Sword of Shannara quickly with the help of his friends or everyone in the Four Lands would be slaughtered.
Terry Brooks’s The Sword of Shannara and The Elfstones of Shannara are the further continuation of the same story. This is the starting part and provides a firm base for everything that is about to come in the next parts. John Lee i.e the official narrator for the series is a superb element to have because his narrative skills are out of this world. Several elements in this book would be explained in the further parts so don’t get confused or exhausted.
