The Rising of the Shield Hero, Volume 1 is a science fiction and fantasy novel. It is the opening title in the Rising of the Shield Hero Series. The book and this series are written by Aneko Yusagi. The Japanese author had a great interest in gaming and reading. He combined them both to produce some excellent fantasy and fiction novels with lots of action. Once you are finished reading the subject chapter then The Rising of the Shield Hero Volume 02 will become your automatic choice.

The audio narration of the subject title is done by Kurt Kanazawa. This was not a satisfactory performance and had many flaws. Besides, this is a book that was more suitable for dual narrators.

Naofumi was known to be an uncharismatic kind of Otaku. He was the one who spent all his days on manga and games. Then suddenly one day, he discovered himself summoned to a far-off parallel universe. He figured out that he was one of the only four heroes who had legendary weapons. They were given the task to protect the world from its expected destruction at the hand of its enemies. The Shield Hero was considered to be the weakest of all the heroes. But, all was not what it appeared to be. Naofumi in quick time was found penniless, alone, and betrayed as well. He was only left with his shield now. He must rise now and become the Shield Hero who would save the world.

The storyline of the book was great with a lot of potentials. But, it was ruined by horrible narration for the female voices specifically.
