The Martian is a science fiction and fantasy novel. The book is written by Andy Weir. He is an American author and a former computer programmer. You will find Andy Weir writing science fiction and fantasy stories where Project Hail Mary is a very good one from the author. Apart from this, The Egg and Other Stories is another interesting title from the author that is not to be missed.
The audio narration of The Martian novel is done by Wil Wheaton. Wil is generally a good narrator but his voice was not suitable for this story and the characters. The main impression is that his voice is way too young for the main character.dsad
Mark Watney was an astronaut who six days ago became the first man ever to walk on the surface of Mars. Then he was sure that he will also be the very first person to die there. A dust storm came that nearly killed him. It also forced his team to evacuate under the assumption that Mark was dead. He found himself stranded and all alone, and had no means to communicate back to the Earth that he was alive.
Even if he could make a contact, his supplies would end long before any rescue mission could come for his help. Chances were that he wouldn’t have much time to starve to death. The unforgiving environment, damaged equipment, and the ‘human error’ were much more likely to get him killed first. The Martian by far is the best novel by Andy Weir that was published in 2011. It was adapted into a film in 2015 with the same title which was liked by the audience as well.
