The Last

The Last is a fiction novel written by an American writer Katherine Alice Applegate. This book is the first edition of the Ending series. She is a young, adult, and children’s fiction writer. she is best known as the author of Animorphs, Remnants, Everworld, and other book series. She has won the 2013 Newbery Medal for her novel The One and Only Ivan which she wrote for children. She has written more than forty-five books; all have fantastic stories. The Last is a magical fantasy story. In this story, the author takes us to a magical world where many species rule the world. The main character of this fantasy story is a dog named Dairen. The   interesting thing about this dog is that it can talk and walk like a human. One day Darien comes back to her home.

She finds out that every one of her family is dead. She is the only one who is safe. She is afraid but she wants to know if she is the last one of her kind in the world. To find out this she goes on the journey where she met two new allies of her type of family. Now, these allies start their kind of family. Overall the story is very good. The author describes the feeling of Darien when she was alone.
