She is a fantastic author of fantasy, mainly historical fantasy from New Zealand. You will have a great literary time with her Daughter of the Forest novel. Other than this, Tower of Thorns is another incredible book that Juliet Marillier has written.

Liobhan was 18 years old. She was an expert whistle player and an excellent singer as well. Her brother had a sweet and soulful voice that could melt even the hardest of hearts. That was believed to be a very special and rare talent in the harp. However, their burning ambition of Liobhan was just to go to Swan Island and join the elite warrior band. She trained there along with her brother so that they could compete for places. And then they found themselves becoming part of a mission while they were still the candidates only. It was their special mix of skills that made them suitable for this particular job, which required someone to go undercover in the form of the traveling minstrels. That Swan Island was known for training both the spies and warriors. The mission at hand was to locate and retrieve a significant harp and that precious thing was considered to be the ancient symbol of kingship.

The Harp of Kings is a decent novel that will connect you with the characters effortlessly. A good share of credit for this goes to the narrator of the book.
