The Girl with All the Gifts

One girl with all the gifts could be a blessing for the entire society or she could easily act as the one who extinguishes everyone single handed. M.R. Carey does not explain the powers of the girl at the beginning rather the author tells about her situation which is not perfect at all. Melanie is the name of the girl who is said to have powers that are extraordinary.
She does not want to harm anyone rather she wants to help the people of the world but she has not been given a chance to do that because everyone is afraid of her. The people of the world treat Melanie as a specimen and she is kept in a cage like the room where no one comes to meet her because everyone is afraid of her. When they open the door, she is strapped to her wheelchair even when she assures that she is not going to harm anyone.

Also, there is a man who keeps on aiming at her during the whole process. She is not scared because of this process though she gets heartbroken at times because of the rude behavior. Melanie is treated as a specimen that’s why the narrator Finty Williams has provided her a little dejected voice.

The Trials of Koli and The Boy on the Bridge are wonderful to have but they cannot be compared in terms of feelings with this book. The psychological feelings of the characters are discussed at an individual level and everyone is with a different thought process. It is amazing to see how the author has been able to deal with all of this correctly.
