The False Prince

When the truths are hidden the reality gets really deadly because something which is based on lies can never stand strongly. A kingdom faces civil war because the king is dead and there is no one who can be crowned. There was a rumor that the king had a son but he was lost many years ago. Now Conner thinks of a plan to unite the kingdom and keep everyone peaceful.
Overall Conner seems to be a decent member of the court but he too has a plan of his own that he wants to fulfill. He thinks that if a prince is introduced to the public in such a situation then the people would agree to follow his commands and Connor can guide that prince according to his will.

Connor selects four boys of the post and only one of them named Sage is selected as the prince. Sage wanted to say no but he wasn’t given the chance to do so because saying no, would mean signing his death sentence. Sage was actually an orphan and it was a new thing for him because he never received so much respect from his surroundings. First, the boy was trained so that he could learn the art to portray himself as a prince.

Jennifer A. Nielsen has not shown whether Sage was happy or not at the beginning because he was unable to believe that such a thing was happening to him. Words on Fire and The Shadow Throne were less surprising than this. Here the boy understands his true plan of Conner in the middle of the story and then there is a long list of amazing things which garnish the story. Charlie McWade had full control over the narration throughout the story till the end.
