The Escape

David Baldacci is not just a storyteller rather he is among the legends in this profession. He has created stories that have introduced new heroes in the books like The 6:20 Man and Memory Man. The heroes are seen as fighting lost battles most of the time and then they turn the table with the help of some trustworthy friends and the unending courage present in their hearts. This is not the first time we are observing John Puller in a serious case because he has been there in several other novels as well.

The author has not given the proper introduction of the hero because it was not needed, all of us know what John Puller is capable of. Ron McLarty and Orlagh Cassidy narrate the story of the world’s safest prison. No one has been able to escape from this prison but this time a prisoner named Robert remains successful in escaping from this prison.

There is another thing about Robert i.e he is the elder brother of John Puller. So the department thinks that John can catch his brother quickly as compared to other officers. John accepts the mission and he is given a partner for the job too. When the investigation begins, John realizes that there are people in the department who want to kill Robert instead of tracking and arresting him.

John gets the hunch that there is more to the case than that which is told to everyone. So before arresting his brother, he decides to observe the clues again which proved his brother guilty in the first place. The clues or evidence have also been altered and someone with resources is after Robert and John going to find out the reason first.
