“The Dying Earth” series is the beginning of a new chapter in fantasy tales by Jack Vance. Jack has written such stuff before in the form of The Star King and The Eyes of the Overworld. The author is supposed to be an expert in the field and he has proved here that there is no doubt about it. Getting the chance to listen to this book in the voice of Arthur Morey is another luxury for the fans.

The earth seems to be the same when the introduction is made at the start of the story. Later when we start observing the characters and creatures present in the story, everything changes forever. The living beings which appear on the scene are not like humans at all. Some are wizards who can control the oddest magic present in the world.

Then there are demons who are always in search of human flesh and blood. They have eaten the human race to an extent that there is a threat that it might get extinct in the days to come. The description of the beautiful women in different chapters brings more charm to this series for the fans. There are a lot of things that are happening in this mind blowing story so keep your mind ready for surprises.

Magic of untold enchanted lands is quite gripping and the way the remaining humans try to survive is stupendous to see. The earth is dying and the people that used to rule it in the past are also close to extinction. A miracle is needed if humans are to survive on the land in the next decade.
