The Duchess

Getting everything and then learning how to enjoy it is not that much tough, the real courage is needed when things get snatched from you and you show courage at that moment. Then moving to the heights again from the ashes show the real potential of an individual. Those who are blessed with such qualities are bound to move forward in an epic way.

This is not a story with too many twists again and again. The twist comes at the beginning when the young girl is thrown out of her house by her brother. She used to live a life of luxury in the past and coming on the street and fighting for survival was not something to which she was quite immune. She managed to rise high again and for this purpose, she started making connections with other women who have been rejected or neglected by society.

Slowly and steadily she kept on rising although the men of the society were not very supportive. Danielle Steel tells the audience that the girl finally regained her lost glory after a long time. Although it took the time she managed to get what was stolen from her and proved that no one could snatch from her the things which rightly belong to her.

The second time she looks more confident too because she has not been given those things rather she earned that power. Gideon Emery was not selected as a narrator in Past Perfect and The Whittiers so the narrator had a lot to prove in this novel. Surely the narrator has earned the respect of the fans by providing a crystal clear voice for the novel. Voice is not the only thing that matters in narration, the pitch is also another important factor which has proved to be quite vital in the modern era when people have become more selective.
