The Dichotomy of Leadership

Everyone wants to become a leader in life and not many of us want to become the followers of the crowd. The issue is that not everyone succeeds as a leader and after a failure, a person starts thinking that he is not made for leadership.

This is a wrong perception because leadership is a skill that can be developed if you have the right mentor. Jocko Willink and Leif Babin have come up with very good ideas in this book as they tell us the issues which a person has to face as a leader.

A leader has to take decisions at crucial times and these decisions sometimes go against the will of others who are present around you. A leader should prove that he is taking the right decision so that others automatically follow him afterward. Another thing about a leader is that he should not always think of dictating terms rather he should have the heart to listen to others as well. If he is listening to others present in the team then he would be able to forge good communication with everyone.

Extreme Ownership also taught us the same way of governing an organization or a small team. The two authors used to be a part of the SEAL teams in their early life so they know how to work like a unit in times of danger. Here they have applied the same philosophy to the business world and it has provided fruit too. Leadership Strategy and Tactics is like the second part of this book because the two authors have talked about the thing once again in that book along with different examples and guidelines.
