The Coldest Case: A Black Book Audio Drama
James Patterson, Aaron Tracy, and Ryan Silbert are back together for this audiobook which is stupendous by all means. The authors have selected the legendary character of detective Billy Harney for this story. The homicide has been seen in many stories before this and here he has a serious case in his hands that has made the entire mafia his enemy.
The novel starts when Billy sends his newly hired partner on a dangerous mission. Billy asks Kate to blend in the drug ring by going undercover. For a few days, the mission seems to be going quite well but suddenly someone starts killing the members of the drug ring. Billy gets terrified and he asks Kate to move away from the entire thing as quickly as possible. Though she moves away from everything this blows her cover and makes her life full of troubles.
Now the entire drug ring knows who she is and they think that she has killed the members of their group and has stolen the Black book as well. Billy and Kate also go in search of the Black book because it contains all the names of the people who are involved in business with the mafia. During their investigation, Billy and his partner look for their informer first of all because he too has gone missing without a trace.
Run, Rose, Run, and Blowback were individual performances of Patterson and here the author has worked fabulously with a team. Aaron Paul, Nathalie Emmanuel, and Beau Brdiges are a few names that you will get familiar with while listening to the narration of the book.
