The purpose was to maximize her excellent magical talent which was needed for saving Muirwood from a couple of new threats. The threat was from a vengeful queen who was accusing the Abbey of the death of her husband. The other considerable threat was a deadly plague with the potential of destroying the entire land.
In between that turmoil, the battle continues. Soon Lia came to know that the magic of the world had started to falter quite quickly.
