Sweet Ruin

All the people desire simple and pleasurable life because no one likes killings and bloodshed. Even adventures according to many people should be of sweet nature which means that there should be no tragedy involved in them. Josephine was living a simple life among the humans and it was something which she started liking as she had her little brother with her to take care of. She provided her brother the security which he needed in the absence of their parents.
Though Jo was a bit rash in behavior she proved to be the nicest sister for her brother. Then her brother was snatched from her and this incident just took all her happiness away. The girl was ready to turn into a villain even for the sake of her brother. In her quest to find her little brother Jo met Rune whose blood mesmerized her.
The two came quite close after the first meeting but Jo had other plans in mind one of which was deceiving Rune. Kresley Cole makes the girl with vampiric nature suffer a lot here. Suffering was the chief element in A Hunger Like No Other: Immortals After Dark, Book 2 and No Rest for the Wicked: Immortals After Dark, Book 3 too.
Suffering is one thing that makes the lovers forget about love because they just cannot come out of their grief. Robert Petkoff has used two modes in narration, the first one was slow and the second one was quick and aggressive. The second mode in the narration can be considered as the original thing because the story ends with that same mode.
