Siege of Stone

Siege of Stone is the third chapter in The Nicci Chronicles novel series. This is a science fiction and fantasy novel which is written by Terry Goodkind. He was a brilliant American author who was mainly known for his The Sword of Truth novel series. More than 25 million copies of The Sword of Truth were sold. Apart from science fiction and fantasy, the author has written contemporary suspense books as well. You will find Stone of Tears among his best novels. Other than that, the author did quite well with his Blood of the Fold novel as well.

The audio narration of the Siege of Stone novel is done by Christina Traister. It was a poor performance by Christina with her typical valley-girl type of inflection.

Nicci, the Sorceress, Nathan, the Wizard, and Bannon, the young swordsman remained in the Ildakar city. This was the time post a considerable internal revolt that free the slaves. The revolt also brought down the extremely resourceful council of the wizards. But, just as he left the city then Maxim, a capricious Wizard Commander dissolved the hardening spell which turned to stone the General Utros army some 15 centuries ago. Thousands of the half-stone soldiers belonging from the ancient past were awakened then. They were led by one of the greatest and the finest ever commanders of the enemy in the entire history.

Nicci, Bannon, and Nathan were supposed to help out the Ildakar city to survive through the indestructible siege. All of the magical defenses and other tactics of the magical Ildakar city were at their disposal. The story of this novel is extremely interesting. But, it was the terrible narration that ruined such a well-written story.
