Stephen Fry does not narrate much because he himself is basically an author and he likes presenting his written works in front of the fans. However, this one was different as compared to the rest because Stephen Fry has been a fan of Arthur Conan Doyle’s works since his childhood. The narrator wanted to narrate this one because he thought that he would be able to do it better than anyone else.

The Complete Sherlock Holmes and The Hound of the Baskervilles have detective stories that one can dream of so it does not matter which book the listener is selecting. Sherlock Holmes was written long ago and it was the kind of book that received instant fame even in that era as well when people were fans of classical things which Shakespeare wrote.

The stories have twisted plots and till the end, we as readers or listeners cannot guess who the original sinner is. Sherlock has to solve the cases for us and he gets to the villains slowly so that we can enjoy the cat and mouse chase. The motives of the crime don’t just jump up to us so we can say that there is a proper setting which the story follows all the time. Multi-layered stories like this cannot be skipped in the middle because the clues are hidden somewhere for all of us. Basically,

our mind is not listening to the story rather it starts hunting for clues after the first chapter when the crime is committed most of the time. Don’t think that the story will not occupy your mind if you have left it incomplete so listen to it completely when you have leisure time.
