Youngsters in the world of today like to play video games whenever they get free time and for this purpose, they stay mostly indoors. Allister in the story is also the same kind of lad who always remains busy in the virtual reality stuff. He does not care what the real world has to offer because he just cannot come out of that competitive environment that the virtual games offer.

Then one day the destruction unexpectedly came to his doorstep. Allister never thought that the things which he used to see in video games would become real for him. An alien race approaches the earth and shifts the planet in the world where there are two suns. The purpose of the alien race is simple i.e crush all humans or at least most of them.

The aliens to kill the humans sent predators and savage monsters on the planet which started eating up the weak humans. Allistor’s family also gets digested by these monsters in the initial weeks. The boy was able to save himself because of his gaming experience but now he wants revenge from the one who has resulted in this massive destruction of the human race.

Dave Willmarth does not take the listeners in a video game rather the author brings the things in a video game to the real world. Narrated by Will M. Watt, Annie Ellicott, and Jeff Hays the book is nothing without Battleborne and Shadow Sun Rebellion. This is just the first part that tells us about the tragedy which the humans face and the rest of the parts show how the survivors plan to fight back under Allistor’s supervision.
