Salute the Dark

Salute the Dark is the fourth chapter in the Shadows of the Apt novel series. This science fiction and fantasy novel is written by Adrian Tchaikovsky. He is a very talented British author of science fiction and fantasy novels. The Shadows of the Apt is his most recognized work. If we talk specifically about his novels then none of his titles did better than Children of Time. After this, the author did quite well in the writing of his Eyes of the Void novel.

Salute the Dark is narrated by Ben Allen. He was at his usual best and made the story an easy one to listen to.

The long search for Uctebri finally came to the end. It was a search for the Shadow Box. The vampire sorcerer came into a position to start with his dark ritual. The emperor of the Wasp-kinden believed that this would provide him with immortality. But, when it came to Uctebri, he had his own set of plans, which were both for the empire and the emperor.

The Wasp forces were on the march. It looked like the war was imminent. Stenwold, the spymaster could separate the allies once and for all from the false friends. The empire by no means would stop until gold and black flag is seen hanging over Collegium, which was the home city of Stenwold.

This was a gem of a book in the series and you wouldn’t help yourself to wait for the other chapters in the series. The author and narrator both were amazing with their respective work for this novel. Once you finish this novel then The Scarab Path, the following chapter in the series is highly recommended.
