Royal

The year is 1943 Daniel Steel paints this novel which has a rich history and unforgettable love. England gets under attack during the World War and the Royal family thinks that the youngest princess Charlotte must be transported to a safe place because she is not well and she needs proper care. No one is told about the thing except for a few trustworthy people linked to the royal family.

The seventeen year old is sent to Yorkshire where she lands with two of her guards. She starts living in that safe place with the noble family and soon she falls in love with the son of her guard. Though the princess was third in the line to the throne she thought that living a simple life was something prettier.

Soon she gave birth to a child and then the tragedy ate up the couple. The infant who was left afterward had royal blood in her veins but this truth was hidden from the rest of the world. The child also didn’t know anything about her bloodline. Then after a span of twenty years, she was recognized through the letters which were left by her mother and it was proved that she was one of the royals.

Nick Afka Thomas has a stupendous voice and his performance as the narrator is also marvelous. In His Father’s Footsteps and The Whittiers lacked such a kind of history as this book also with proper years and dates that tell us about different happenings of the past. The royal house is also described with accuracy and the scenes of the World War look quite real.
