Quantum of Nightmares

Quantum of Nightmares is a science fiction and fantasy novel. It is the 11^th chapter in the Laundry Files novel series which is written by Charles Stross. He is a British writer of science fiction and fantasy novels. He is a specialist when it comes to writing space operas and hard science fiction novels. The Nightmare Stacks is a very good example of his work and so is The Annihilation Score novel.

The audio narration of Quantum of Nightmares is done by Gideon Emery. You will find it to be an amusing and easy listen with such a gripping performance by Gideon Emery. It was a new and brave Britain under the New Management at that time. The kindhearted prime minister was an ancient eldritch god with possession of extremely strong and unimaginable powers. Crime at the place was plummeting as every proven offense was kind of punishable by death. Everywhere you look there will be people with many strange powers. A few of them were the ones that you cannot control, while some, were not that much.

Eve Starkey was hyper-organized and extremely formidable. She also defeated her boss who was the billionaire and louche magical adept Rupert de Montfort Bigge. His boss was defeated by her in a supernatural duel leading to death. Now, she was the in-charge of the Bigge Corporation and just within time to find the fatal trap that Rupert set long ago for her.

All of the fans of the Laundry Files came after this one with very high expectations. But, this didn’t live up to that. There were many flaws in the plot and the story moved too slowly.
