Orphan Train

Orphan Train is a horror fiction novel. It is written by Christina Baker Kline. She is an American novelist who has written seven novels so far where one of them being The Way Life Should Be. Another worth mentioning book by the same author is A Piece of the World. Jessica Almasy and Suzanne Toren narrated this novel quite beautifully. They finely paced it and made the characters sound so real and relatable.

Penobscot Indian Molly Ayer was right at the edge of ‘aging out of the foster care facility. It was a position for community service that was helping an older woman with the cleaning of her home. That was the only thing that was keeping Molly Ayer totally out of juvie and a lot worse.

Just when she helped Vivian a lot to sort through all of her different memories and possessions, Molly came to know that she along with Vivian were quite different as they appeared to be. Vivian was a young orphaned immigrant from Ireland who was then living in New York City. She was boarded on a train that was Midwest bound along with many other children. Their destinies will only be determined by chance and luck. Molly soon found out that she had the power required to help Vivian for getting all the answers to the different mysteries surrounding them. Those mysteries were the ones that haunted her for life. The answers to those would eventually free both of them.

Orphan Train is a heartfelt and absorbing page-turner. It is a story of a couple of women who were trying to find a sense of home. It was the sophisticated and vibrant language of Kline that made this story so appealing to the audience.
