One Word Kill

One Word Kill is a science fiction romance novel. It is the first book in the Nick Hayes Series. The book is written by Mark Lawrence. He is a talented American-British author. He is widely known for The Broken Empire trilogy. Emperor of Thorns is the best novel of the author which in 2014 helped the author bag the David Gemmell Legend Award. The audio narration of One Word Kill novel is done by Matthew Frow. The narration was awful and it made this book difficult to listen to. The story of this novel is set in January 1986. That was the time when Nick Hayes, a 15-year-old genius boy discovered that he was dying. That was not even the strangest thing that happened to him that week.

Nick and several of his Dungeons & Dragons playing friends were quite used to love in their imaginations. But when a new girl named Mia became part of the group and the reality became weirder than the fantasy world they visited in their games, none of them was ready for what comes next. A strange man was following Nick. He was curiously familiar and had abilities that shouldn’t exist in the first place. Moreover, that man had a cryptic message: Mia was in grave danger. She doesn’t know it yet but she needed help from Nick.

The story was not good and failed to meet the expectations of the listeners. It was kind of immortalizing a specific subject matter that followers were not expecting as such.
