Mulholland Dive

Michael Connelly has used detective Harry Bosch on a number of occasions. The character has appeared in the novels as a solo hero most of the time and on some occasions, the author has joined him with a team as well. For the first time, we see the detective working in short stories. This is a long book but it does not consist of a single story rather the book has three short stories in it.

The first story which starts the book is about a cheater in a poker game. The cheater had been working right under the nose of the players for many years and now finally he gets caught which makes the situation deadly. Then comes the hidden codes of the accident scenes which start a series of other crimes as well.

The world of criminals gets into action when the codes come to the surface and it is clear that there are many people who are attached to the thing. Those who are attached to the thing don’t want anything to leak and they are going to do everything to keep the codes buried. David W. Collins’ narration has made it equally interesting like Nine Dragons and City of Bones.

Although this is not a very long book it has the potential of being a great book with a lot of variety which is enjoyable for every fan. These are like three shorter versions of big novels and such short stories save a lot of time especially when the listener is busy. These stories have no connection with the previous books so beginners can also begin with this one.
