The new master vamp of Cincinnati has finally arrived. The first thing she wanted was to have Rachel out of the equation. Constance was there, no matter what, wherever Rachel goes while threatening the allies of Rachel, and leading to citywide chaos. To add more insult to injury, even forcing Rachel to be out of her current quarters. Ever since Rachel found a way to save the souls of vamps, the longtime ascendency of the old undead had been broken. Then Constance saw eliminating Rachel as the only key to consolidating her power.

Rachel had no desire to be enthralled or to be killed. She was quite terrified of what may become of the entire city of Constance making a return back to the ancient ways. But then, even a witch-born demon couldn’t stand well against the old undead, at least, not alone though. If Rachel refuses to claim the role of the master demon of Cincinnati, the city would tear apart itself, while taking her along with all those who stood beside her.

This is a good book that remained consistent with no dull moment at all. Thanks to Marguerite Gavin as well for keeping listeners engaged through her stellar vocal performance.
