Magic Study

Magic Study is a contemporary fantasy romance book that is the second chapter in The Chronicles of Ixia novel series. It is written by Maria V. Snyder. She is an American author of fantasy and science fiction novels. Study Series is her most prominent literary work where she was most appreciated for her Poison Study and Dawn Study novels.

The audio narration of the Magic Study novel is done by Gabra Zackman. She was just superb once again with her performance. Having her major enemy dead and then on her way to unite with the family that she was stolen from quite long ago, Yelena must feel happy.  But although she got her freedom, she couldn’t help being completely secluded in Sitia. They Ixian background of her has changed in several different ways and her new friends and relatives thought that it wasn’t for the better.

Despite all of the turmoil, she was keen to start her training in magic, especially when she was awarded one whole year to harness her power. If not then she will be put to death. But all of her plans took a drastic turn when she became involved with a plot to reclaim the throne of Ixia for a lost prince. She got involved in some potent rivalries which were with her other fellow magicians.

If that was not supposed to be bad enough, it looked that her brother would like to see her dead. Fortunately, Yelena has some good old friends who were there to help her deal with her new enemies. This chapter of the series will keep you intrigued after you finish the first chapter. You might find the brutality and cruelty of the people to be exaggerated but that is the real charm of this story.
