Lothaire lost his mate centuries ago and since then he has not known what love and sexual pleasure is. No one attracts him except power and he wants to keep his rule forever. Kresley Cole introduces a poor girl in the story after describing this monster vampire.
Elizabeth has no idea that the vampire also wants to sacrifice her after a span of one month after which he will have what he needs in her exchange. As time passes we listen to the sigh of the vampire in Robert Petkoff’s voice. The vampire starts liking the girl he has abducted and thinks that letting her go would not be that easy after all.
