Lady’s Ransom

Lady’s Ransom is a science fiction and fantasy novel. It is the third book in The First Argentines novel series which is written by Jeff Wheeler. He is the bestselling writer in Wall Street Journal. He was working for Intel until 2014 and then took early retirement to pursue his career as a full-time writer. It was a productive career move for him as he came up with some really good novels where one of which is The Wretched of Muirwood. After this, you will also like his work in The Hollow Crown novel.

The audio narration of Lady’s Random novel is done by Kate Rudd. The performance by Kate was priceless and exactly what this novel and its characters demanded.

Ransom and his better half Claire arrived together in Legault. They were there to reclaim the birthright title of Claire. She was looking to rebuild a battle-weary palace that should be restored to its former glory. She also intended to teach her husband about the enchanted history of their present home. But when Ransom was summoned to make a return back to King Benedict then his loyalty was tested by Claire.

The highly ambitious King Benedict was the one who had full control over the dominion of his late father. He must do everything to prove his might. The warriors on the other side in the East Kingdoms had disrupted the trade routes. They were moving forward while weakening every kingdom that came in their path.

This is a very well-written story with an amazing cast of characters. Listeners want to have more of these powerful stories by Jeff Wheeler and especially when they are narrated so beautifully as well.
