Minalan i.e the Spellmonger is not a new character for the old fans of Terry Mancour rather the character of Minalan gave all the fame to the author. The spellmonger is present in this book narrated by John Lee but the story is not entirely about him. Minalan trained two of his best disciples for a special purpose and when they fulfilled that purpose they were knighted for their services.
One of them is more attracted towards books and he likes to stick to his task all the time and the other is different in his approach towards life. Minalan the hero of Spellmonger and Warmage has become a father now and his wife happens to be pregnant once again so he does not want any more fuss from these two. When Minalan sees that the two cannot coexist he just throws them out of his domain in order to get some peace of mind. With hatred for each other in mind, the two start a new journey in life.
