Kingdom of the Wicked is a paranormal teen & young adult novel. It is the opening chapter in the Kingdom of the Wicked novel series. The book is written by Kerri Maniscalco. She grew up in NYC in a semi-haunted house. That was the place where her fascination began for gothic settings. You must give a go to her Escaping From Houdini and Stalking Jack the Ripper books.
The audio narration of Kingdom of the Wicked is done by Marisa Calin. It was an excellent performance and the voice of the narrator was appropriately dramatic for the characters and the situation of the story.
Emilia and Vittoria were twin sisters. They were streghe, the witches who lived secretly among the regular humans. They managed to avoid being noticed or to get persecuted. Vittoria one night missed the dinner service at the renowned Sicilian restaurant of her family. Emilia was quick to discover the body of her sister, which was desecrated beyond belief. She was devasted. Soon, Emilia sets out on a quest to find the killer of her sister and was seeking vengeance at any given cost, even if it asks her to use the dark magic which has been long forgotten.
Emilia then met Wrath, who was one of the Wicked prices of Hell she has been always warned about in the stories that she heard as a child. Wrath openly claimed to be on the side of Emilia. He was given a task by his master to solve the series of murders of women on the island. But when it was about Wicked, there was nothing as it appeared to be.
