High Rhulain

Brian Jacques comes up with another concept about another land where the Otters of Green Isle are kept under the thumb of a foreign force. In the past, the outers used to fight back but this has become impossible because the enemy has become stronger than ever. All the otters can hope for is the fulfillment of prophecy according to which a hero will emerge from the land who will save them.
They have been waiting for that hero for a long time but he has not risen till now. If things go on like this then the people of the land might not be able to bear the oppression for a long time. It is clear that everyone will perish before the arrival of the chosen one and there would be no one left on the land to save. High Rhulain can be anyone among the people of the land but he has to emerge quickly.

Meanwhile, Tiria thinks that she should start her training as a warrior because she cannot bear all this oppression and she wants to fight against the injustice being done to her people. Her father is not in favor of the thing but when she sees the condition of a friend who happens to be badly injured, she finally makes up her mind.

Brian Jacques narrated it with great care, the author wanted to keep it on the level of Mariel of Redwall and Salamandastron. The rise of the hero is not on the routine pattern in this one. The hero emerges for the people of Green Isle on the occasion when they are least expecting it.
