Jamie’s newspaper was doing fine and the income was good but not excellent. Perhaps Jamie wanted more from the business and she thought that something was lacking in it. Bringing something new in this case was the only way for her. So she started a personal ads section in her newspaper and suddenly all the business-minded people started gathering for ads.

Though the section was going well the town got a little horny in approach because the ads were somehow linked to sex. In every kind of business, people started adding something sexy because they were of the view that it was the right way to gain fame. Although it was not the right way the good news was that everything was selling including the newspaper.

Then someone sinister approached the town and he started molding everything according to his own will. Dead bodies start to appear and all of the dead bodies were somehow linked to the personal ads section. Janet Evanovich and Charlotte Hughes add the second character later in the novel, this is the technique that the two adopted in One for the Money and Explosive Eighteen before this one.

Thus Max comes into the picture in order to help Jamie and the two go after the murderer. This single mission ignites the spark of love between these two characters as well. Lorelei King is fantastic at narrating love situations and that skill has really blossomed here. Jamie and Max try to deal with one murder and a time, however, they very quickly realize that all of them are connected in a unique way.
