Life can change very quickly for any person and once it is changed then returning back to the same platform is usually not possible. This thing happened to Mercy Thompson when she got selected as a mate by Adams who happens to be the alpha of the werewolf pack. The situation is not right for the werewolves because they are involved in a serious battle for existence.

There are political games that are being played in the packs and the people of the world also want to eradicate the werewolves as they don’t want to accept them. In this situation, Mercy has many tasks in hand and the most important of them all is to keep Jesse safe who is the daughter of her mate.

Like Adam, she too is very close to Jesse because she happens to be an adorable child. One day while the traffic stops everything on the road, Mercy thinks that there is something seriously wrong with the pack. She is not able to establish any contact with the pack and her blood contact with Adam tells her that he is in serious trouble and he is in need of help too.

Patricia Briggs’ Silence Fallen and Bone Crossed fall in the same category as this is about the war between the two worlds. Apparently, neither of the two sides is winning the war and Mercy just wants to save her husband and also her stepdaughter who is quite dear to her now.  Lorelei King narrated the start of the war in this series quite a long ago and it is not coming to any kind of conclusion here as well. The story is about Mercy who is worried about personal goals and hasn’t started thinking in a bigger spectrum.
