He is a British author who rose to fame with his Alex Verus novel series. If he talks individually about his best novels then apart from Forged, his Risen and Cursed are quite good to check out.

To protect many of his friends, Mage Alex Verus had to change big time.

He was supposed to embrace his dark side. But on the other side, the life of mage Anne had also changed a lot. She made a special bond with highly dangerous power. She was just going after everyone and she has also got a grudge. And, that list is pretty long.

Alex in the meantime has to deal with Levistus, who was his arch-enemy. The death squads of the council were hunting for Alex along with Anne. The only option that Alex had to stop them was to put his long war with Levistus and Council to an end through any possible means. It will take almost everything that Alex had so that he could stay a step ahead of Council and also to inhibit Anne from burning the world.

The character’s growth is phenomenal throughout the series and they seem to be like old friends in this novel. The action in the book is top-notch, both in quantity and quality. It comes with a winning combination of writer and narrator.
