People sleep at night but not vampires and monsters; it is a night that these creatures crave more than anything. At night they come out of the hidings because their enemy i.e the sun is not in the sky anymore.

The rays of the sun destroy vampires and change them into dust that’s why daylight is their biggest enemy. It is nighttime where the vampires rule supreme and suck the blood of anybody which is available to them. Jeaniene Forst’s leading character i.e Denise knows all of this but she is not afraid of all that because she has been blessed with a guardian.

People have guardian angels to protect them and Denise has a vampire to protect her all the time. It is Spade who happens to be one of the strongest of vampires and has never spared the life of a human female until now.

Whenever he comes closer to Denise he wants to forget about everything else and wants to have a taste of her blood. But the vampire cannot do that because if this happens both of them would get destroyed that very second. One Foot in the Grave and Shades of Wicked also continue with the same story which gets explained here in Tavia Gilbert’s voice.

Together the two try to stop the impossible for which they have to be alert all the time and keep an eye on the enemies too who are now approaching their full strength. Spade after all this time still cannot believe that he is protecting the life of a human girl and his life also depends on all of this.
