Fire Touched

One thing which Mercy cannot stand is the loss of life. She tries to keep everyone safe whether it is a human or a shapeshifter like her. So she is more like a peacekeeper in the area. The fae and humans have developed tension and it is clear that the fae is going to win because the humans cannot defend themselves against such powerful creatures.

The only line of defense for the humans is Mercy and her Alpha mate. During this fight, Mercy and Adam try to get their hands on a big target because they finally find out about a child that was taken from the human world by the fae. They think that the boy can solve this big issue of war so when they get their hands on the boy, they decide to protect him at all cause but he is not an ordinary kind of kid.

He happens to be touched by fire and he could destroy the werewolves too who are actually trying to keep him protected. Patricia Briggs talks about a weapon in this story that can easily backfire so the heroes have to be pretty careful about the thing. The Hob’s Bargain and Alpha and Omega didn’t have so many groups fighting for the same cause.

Here the humans, werewolves, and fae are after one goal and not all of them can win the battle. Even if one of them wins eventually then it would happen after heavy casualties which is not what Mercy and Adam want. Listen to it because Lorelei King has garnished it with a variety of narration that is seldom seen.
