Most of the critics are of the view that the concept of the Edge Series was there in Ilona Andrew’s mind for a very long time. Somehow the author wasn’t able to put the thing on a piece of paper. Finally, everything about the series got settled in the mind of Ilona and this series got a launching. Renee Raudman got attached to the series as the narrator for the series and the fans hope to listen to the same voice all the way. The novel is about a woman who wanted to keep herself away from all sorts of troubles.

Audrey Callahan was never the woman who wanted action or a sudden rise in her life. Her fate however had other plans and she was thrown in the hell out of which she could only come out if she had the courage in her heart. Her brother gets all caught up in a terrible thing and Audrey wasn’t able to sit still.

She wanted to do something for her brother because he was the only relation she was left with after the death of her parents. So the woman planned for one more job that was bound to lead her to the world of the corrupt. Gamblers, thieves, and even spies came in her way but she didn’t step down in front of the enemy or the circumstances that came in front of her.
