Evil Eye

Evil Eye is a fictional book. It is written by Madhuri Shekar. She is an Indian-American screenwriter and playwright. Her plays have been produced all across the USA and also internationally. Evil Eye is her best work while she was also appreciated for her work in In Love and Warcraft, Queen, and A Nice Indian Boy.

The narration of Evil Eye is led by Nick Choksi. The other narrators include Annapurna Sriram, Rita Wolf, Harsh Nayyar, and Bernard White.

The USA was convinced that the Evil Eye (curse) brings constant misfortune and that was the thing cast upon her daughter. Her name was Pallavi and all of that cursed thing started when she was still in her womb. Her career-oriented daughter was nearing the age of 30 but did not have any prospective husband in sight. Usha wanted to fix things for Pallavi, so she arranged a few dates for her with potential suitors. But this setup failed as well. But a completely unexpected series of events made Pallavi her matchmaker.

All of that happened when she met Sandeep and quickly fell in love with him. He was a young, successful Indian-American entrepreneur. Pallavi thought that her mother will be happy with her choice finally but instead, she was not feeling the same. Rather, she suspected the motives of Sandeep and even his actual identity.

This play in audio will be an exciting and unique experience. It is entirely told through a series of voicemail messages and phone calls. It started as a light comic family story and then the cultural divide made things go intense. The listeners will like this book for its story and the characters.
