Etched in Bone

“Other” came to the human world long ago and as time passed they gained power after which controlling the world was not very difficult for them. They conquered the human cities one by one and killed most of the humans. When the humans perished the land of the shifters also came under siege and now the remaining members of both these species have joined hands as this is the only way they can survive.
Living in the ruins the only way to survive is to hide until the time is right to attack back. But the time to fight back will perhaps never come as the Others is coming for them, soon there will be a time when they will learn about the hideouts and it will be all over for them. Simon the leader of the wolf shifter believes in the unity of the two species and he is continuously working on it with Meg i.e the blood prophet.

Meg is not hopeful like Simon because she has seen herself close to her grave in her dreams and she is sure that the time is near for her and the rest of the tribe. Anne Bishop was wonderful in Daughter of the Blood and Murder of Crows and this time the word wonderful is not sufficient for the author.

This single novel has outclassed the rest of the parts that have been written before this one. Alexandra Harris has also cemented her place as the narrator of this series after this performance which was equal in quality of the story. The “Others” dominate in the entire novel and still the hope of the survivors is not crushed.
