Eldest

The Eldest is a teen and young adult novel. It is the second installment in The Inheritance Cycle novel series. The book is written by Christopher Paolini. He is an American novelist and screenwriter. Inheritance from The Inheritance Cycle is hands down his best work and highly recommended. Apart from this, he did a decent job with the writing of his Eragon novel as well.

Gerard Doyle narrated this book and received mixed reviews. Some liked him for the versatility in his voice while others complained about his voice not suiting several characters.

Eragon along with Saphira, his dragon just managed to save the entire rebel state from destruction by the strong forces of King Galbatorix. He was the vicious ruler of the Empire. Eragon then was supposed to travel towards Ellesmera which was known to be the land of the elves. That journey was needed to get further training in the different kinds of skills associated with the Dragon Rider. It mainly includes swordsmanship and magic. Soon, he was on his way for the journey of his lifetime. His eyes wide opened to the awe-inspiring new people and places.

All of his days were filled with fresh adventure. But on the other side, betrayal and chaos plagued him viciously at almost every turn and nothing was what it appeared to be. Eragon before long doesn’t know whom he could trust. Roman, his cousin in the meanwhile must look to fight a new battle that had the potential to put Eragon in deep danger.

The book was a bestseller on almost all major platforms in the USA. The writing was exceptional. The narration was good as well, except for the voicing of the female dragons.
