Dragonseye

Dragonseye is an epic contemporary romance novel. It is the second book in the Pern Novels series which is written by Anne McCaffrey. She was an Irish-American author of science fiction, fantasy, and romance novels. She is the first-ever female writer to receive both the Nebula and Hugo awards. Dragonflight and Dragonquest.

The deadly silver strands fall from the sky just like rain, while devouring all the organic things on their way. Those included plants, animals, and people alike. Who could believe that such a horrible kind of thing could still exist? It has been 200 years since Thread fell on Pern supposedly. Nobody alive could remember that first particular onslaught. There was no sign of it anywhere in the world. only the dragons which were originally produced to be a lethal weapon against the Thread were still around to remind the people that once before their population was annihilated, their hopes and livelihoods were destroyed for good.

For a couple of centuries, the Dragonriders have been training and practising. They were passing down from generations the Threadfighting techniques which were learned on the fly by their inundated ancestors. The majority of the Lord Holders were all set to protect their people and to provide sanctuary and assemble the grounds crews to search and destroy any Thread that could be missed by the dragons.

The Dragonseye is an excellent book and worth your time. The narration was good too but the audio recording has a few issues.
