Down the Rabbit Hole

Down the Rabbit Hole

Holly Madison has selected the metaphor of “Alice in Wonderland” to describe her life in the Playboy Mansion. At first, it was a dream world that she wanted to enter from the beginning but when she went inside it, she realized that it was a terrible place. She changed her name first after entering the mansion and then she observed how people were backstabbing each other in that place.

The rules, the manipulations, and the tragedies, all these things were part of the daily routine. Even in that busy place, Madison thought that she was all alone. Though she hosted a television show for four years while her link with the place but the loneliness never disappeared. There was no one whom he could trust because everyone was thinking about themselves all the time.

Thus the rabbit hole in which Madison fell was not very different from the one in which Alice found herself. At one point Madison thought of committing suicide because she thought that her life was not worthy anymore and then she realized that she can do much more and should take on the challenge bravely. Thus she started talking openly about the things that used to happen in the Mansion.

The use of drugs and sexual harassment were among the common things that used to happen every day in that particular place. This memoir provided the author confidence to come up with The Vegas Diaries later on. These books provide us with the inside picture of the world that we usually observe from the outside. No one bothers to know what is going on in this kind of place so things carry on in the usual manner most of the time.
