Dead Wake

Dead Wake Audiobook

This is the story of a ship that was carrying civilians and it landed on the wrong side of the ocean. Erik Larson has taken a real episode from history and he has described it in complete detail. Many people in the world would think that they already know about the incident that’s why there would be nothing new in the story but this is a wrong perception.

The details which you will find in this book never appeared in ordinary books. On 1st May 1915, a ship started its journey from New York to Liverpool. It was the era when the Germans were not allowing any kind of transaction through the sea in that part of the world.

The U-boats of the Germans were constantly sailing in the sea and they had declared it as the war zone. The captain of the ship was confident that he would bring everyone safely to the shore. The ship had children and families in it so it was a risky thing and when the civilian ship reached the shore it was surrounded by enemy boats. The secret British intelligence was also aware and it was keeping an eye on the situation from the beginning.

Scott Brick goes quick and swift in narration while narrating this portion because everything happens quickly here. The Devil in the White City had some additions but this one is a detailed picture of a real event that happened exactly in the same manner according to the author. In the Garden of Beasts is also thrilling so keep on listening to the works of the author and you will enjoy it all.
