Blood and Betrayal is a science fiction and fantasy novel. It is the fifth book in The Emperor’s Edge novel series. The book is written by Lindsay Buroker. She has tried her pen on different but closely related genres which include science fiction, high fantasy, steampunk, and action & adventure novels. The audio narration of Blood and Betrayal novel is done by Vivienne Leheny. She tried hard to keep her voice the same as in the previous novels of the series for the same characters, but it came out slightly different this time. Nonetheless, the narrator was once again outstanding.

The last thing that Maldynado ever wanted was to be left like the one in charge. He was a former aristocrat and present-day ladies’ man. The team just blew up a train which was followed by crashing a dirigible and then abducting the emperor. It was sort of a very critical time. But, the team was lacking to have the best leaders as Amaranthe was captured and Sicarius went off to find her. On top of that, Sicarius also made it clear that the life of Maldynado might be forfeited if anything happened to that emperor, while he was gone. Moreover, the cutthroats of the Forge were after Sespian which made things even worse.

This one is an exciting and nonstop ride for fun and adventure lovers.
