Battleground

Battleground is the first chapter of The Unification War Trilogy. This science fiction and fantasy novel is written by Joshua Dalzelle. He is the bestselling author of Black Fleet Saga and Omega Force Series. If we talk about his novels at an individual level then his To Hell and Back is an absolute gem. The audio narration of Battleground novel is done by Mark Boyett. He is a maestro among the narrators’ fraternity. His performance for this book is fantastic and you will love to witness all the characters in his voice.

After a couple of bloody, brutal struggles for their existence against the pitiless alien enemies, humanity turned out to be victorious. But, it was not at peace at all.

Just as accusations and distrust consumed the building political discourse between the two critical factions, the Eastern Star Alliance force had already started with tiny raiding missions. Those missions were carried out in the United Terran Federation space. The Federation fleet was still dealing with the repercussions of the last war and was in no position to try and defend its borders.

The diplomacy then crumbled and tension intensified. The ESA in that situation enthused into a Federation star system. The Federation in desperation deployed a strong task force under the command of Admiral Jackson. The mission was to deescalate the situation.

This is a great starship military science fiction but might not be good for everyone. It is because the story is too heavy with politics along with a long cast of characters. You might struggle to keep track of everybody in the story.
